Sunday is Race #13 for the SCARTS Rising Star Series @ Indianapolis Motor Speedway!
Sunday's race will mark a change in restarts for SCARTS. No longer can the race leader gas it full throttle the moment the pacecar turns into pitlane. The leader must regulate speed to keep the co-leader (2nd place car) alongside him and not jump him by more than two-car lengths at the start/finish line. How that is timed is up to the leader, but if more than two car lengths are there at the line, the restart will be called off and another attempt at it will be made. If the leader screws it up again, he will be moved to the last car on the lead lap moving the other lead lap cars up a position. This procedure should even up the restart lines so the leader doesn't get too much of an advantage from an early acceleration done on a boost area.
I will pace this event to oversee the new procedure. Shyguy will drive the #22 car to defend his 2012 win. See you Sunday!
