The All-Star race is open to all past champions of the event and winners from the 2011 and 2012 SCARTS Full Throttle Cup Series.
This event also doubles as SCARTS World 600 qualifying - your time will count for both the 600 AND the Showdown/All-Star. Of course, you will be placed in either event in the order of best to worst from the qualifying session.
SCARTS Showdown Info
====================
The SCARTS Showdown is a qualifier race to make the SCARTS All-Star Race for those not automatically eligible for the big show. The race winner will transfer into the race as well as a 'fan vote' for drivers to vote upon to enter the event. Should the fan vote win the Showdown, the driver with the next most votes will transfer in.
The Showdown will consist of two 20 lap segments with a planned three lap pace at the segment break (to be represented ingame as '43 laps'). Strategy will be implemented.
How do you know if you are in the All-Star? You must have won a race in 2011/2012 in Full Throttle Cup or be a past winner of the SCARTS All-Star Race.
Here is a list of the eligible drivers:
- Burn (2011 Race Winner)
- Burnout (All-Star II Winner)
- Delux (2012 Race Winner)
- JonnO (2012 Race Winner)
- Lanz (2012 Race Winner)
- Lexx (All-Star IV Winner)
- Scorpio (All-Star III Winner)
- Shyguy (All-Star V Winner)
- Szymek (2012 Race Winner)
- Slick (All-Star I Winner)
- Trent (2011 Race Winner)
If you are not listed here, you must race in the Showdown preliminary race and win it or get voted in if you fail to win. Transfers will start the All-Star race from the back of the pack.
SCARTS All-Star Race Overview
=============================
The race format for this year will mimic what NASCAR set for the 2012 Sprint All-Star Race but with some tweaks which I'll detail in a bit. In addition to this list, two additional drivers will be included: the winner of the SCARTS Showdown and a fan vote to be started following Wednesday's Rising Star race at Charlotte.
The race will consist of a 100 lap race separated by four competition cautions every 20 laps. The segment winners in reverse order will lead the field to a 10 lap Segment 5 finale. Segment 4 winner will restart 1st, Segment 3 winner restarts 2nd, Segment 2 winner restarts 3rd, and the Segment 1 winner restarts 4th. The rest of the field will lineup behind that in order of Segment 4 finish.
(For example, we start Segment 1 and the admin calls a compeition caution after Lap 20. Pitstops begin and the field lines up for a restart. If the Lap we restart is Lap 23 for example, we will race 20 more laps through Lap 42. Then we pit again and go through the same cycle. Segment 4 begins and we will run the remaining laps through Lap 100. Then Segment 5 starts and the field is reset by segment winners.
This race is NOT for points and is merely for entertainment and tradition. But don't forget, quals are important to set your starting position for the SCARTS World 600 on June 17th.
