Delux and Dore are tied for 4th place. They have equal Wins/Top 3s/Top 5s and have identical finishing positions in the three races they competed in. (Not to mention they are also tied in poles, haha, but that is not a category used to break a tie.)

Just to remind you Burnout that after Wins/Top 3's/Top 5s the tiebreaker is not finishing positions but Head to Head record between the two drivers, first in a simple who beat the other more times way when they both raced and then if that is still tied, who beat the other by more places. I recall we did settle a tiebreaker like that perhaps 2 years ago.
So, the races they both raced in:
Brands Hatch: Dore 1st, Delux 2nd
Daytona 500: Delux 1st/Dore 2nd
Well f***. If thats what you meant by finishing positions I apologise. We need to come up with another tiebreaker it would seem in the VERY rare possibility something like this happens at the end of the season. Perhaps, bonus points gained over the season? Laps lead over the season?

Bonus points would be fair (just for the Chase though), because if finishing positions were all equal, then bonus points would equate to "who scored more points during the Chase", and that's only possible with unequal starting points.
For RS/Cup with equal points at the start of the Chase:
Laps led would seem like a reasonable tiebreaker, but normalized for length of the race. If I led all the laps at Dover and Delux led all the laps at Tsukuba, then I don't think it's fair for me to get the advantage just because there are 175 more laps at Dover.
So how I would do it is average the percent of laps led in each race. In the above example, we'd both get 100% for our respective efforts at Tsukuba and Dover, so it would be fair. It's a little extra work, but it's so unlikely that that would be OK
Also, with the Chase system, I think you would need to limit it to laps led percentage during the Chase, because it's not fair for the title to be decided based on the whole season when we go into the Chase expecting it to only be decided by the next eight races.
[Also we should NEVER include dropped races as any tiebreaker IMO]

Well, those last two points about races outside the chase and dropped races are moot as they are already used in tiebreakers - Top 3's, Top 5's. In fact, thats how Lanz won the championship last year, from a good performance all season leading to him winning the tiebreak. I see what you mean about normalizing it with regards to laps lead... I'll keep thinking about other possible tiebreakers.

Yeah, I mean more that if your drilling down into head to head results in individual races, essentially, that it should only count non-dropped races (then again, that gets you into the scenario where you could potentially have eight races and only four head-to-head results to compare).
