Notes

What a race of two halves, ZERO cautions in the first 95 laps followed by 14 for 61 laps in the last 105

The race was ended a couple laps early due to Sam stopped on track. The timegaps and positions are those at the time the caution flew. Its a real shame we were denied a racing finish after a second half of the race which was tense and nervy compared to the first half.. we are still learning how the draft works, and im sure it will be a better race all round at the 160 lapper under the lights in the summer.

What we will do about Sam is yet to be decided by SCARTS admins. We will keep you posted on what we decide. He was given an official warning after the RS race for ignoring admin commands and we will factor this in to our decision.

And finally.. congrats to Delux on winning the Daytona 500! A big sweep of the points races in speedweeks for you, way to start 2014 and Turbosliders version 2.4 off with a bang! Congratulations and thankyou to all that took part, now onto Phoenix where it will be more about the new tyres than the draft, although drafting should still come into play when making passes.

Too bad the races ended the way they did. Didn't want to win that way, but i have to take them. Who knows when I get a chanse like this again.

Anyway congratz Delux, great performance - you deserved that win

Indeed Delux, from watching the race back you were consistently in the top 3 cars all race, you put yourself in the right position to benefit from some good luck, so well done on winning the Daytona 500! You seem good at these big races after winning the All Star race last year!

I had a good shot at winning this too, but I couldn't handle the draft and was caught out several times. My end-of-race strategy got bonkered because of all of the yels and a few tangles with the 48, but oh well.

Sucks that the race ended the way it did, but congrats to Delux nevertheless!

Nice that I got fastest lap though. I was pleasantly surprised about that!
