Sunday, October 27th is the Full Throttle Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Lanz won the final race before drops at Brands Hatch road course, but Burnout finished closely behind in 2nd with two bonuses. Dore fell victim to Popowitch (racing the leaders a lap down with no opportunity to make up the lap lost) and that has severely hurt his chances at the Full Throttle Cup title - but only fell as far as Lanz, 3 points back of Burnout.
There is one way that Burnout can clinch the title a week early at Las Vegas: he must win and earn both bonus points for leading 10% and leading the most laps. Reason being, Burnout and Lanz both have 18 and 17 point races to drop in the final two races. Dore has two 17 point races to drop. If Burnout scores 24 points, he drops his 17 pointer to earn back seven points. The most 2nd place can do for Lanz or Dore is 20 points, so a three point drop over their 17 pointers. Such a situation leaves Burnout with a seven point lead entering Homestead, which becomes insurrmountable for Lanz/Dore to make up even if Burnout bombs the finale. If Dore is the 2nd place finisher, he has an additional point to gain than Lanz would @ Homestead, and could tie it scoring 24 points, but Burnout holds the tiebreaker. If Burnout does not win Las Vegas, the championship is far from decided.
Come join us for an intense battle on Sunday the 27th!
