a revision of restart procedure... make sure nobody jumps..and if somebody does..dont scrap the start...make them to drive thru penalties or other options..also try to set certain markers for the lead car to take off...or maybe get a dedicated individual to serve as a pace car

also, maybe we can reward the team aspect as well...run an owners title or team championship...like if 2 drivers know they wont make all the races, maybe team with another driver and let them compete for an owners title..like many teams have done in nationwide..just an idea to add some more competition and rivalry to the series..other than that i think are rules are great and admins run a fair show

Sometimes its really not the person who jumps fault.. just need to have admins be trigger happy to scrap the start IMMEDIATLY, especially if it goes 3 wide..

We cant constantly scrap restarts though... we just lose so many laps...people need to know if they jump they will be penalized...granted some starts get messed up...it happens, but when you just totally jump restarts and know it..then you need to recieve a penalty that teaches you not to do it

As far as penalties go, Shyguy's right, it isn't always the fault of the driver if restarting some rows back of the leader. If the leader jumps and puts a huge gap on the field, then MAYBE we could penalize that. Its the front row drivers' responsibility to keep the field together until the stripe.

and i agree with you 100%...but when the drivers on rows 2 or 3 are laying back and slamming the throttle and pulling along side the front row cars across the line, we need to get the point across that you will be penalized..because when that starts happening, its forcing the lead drivers to have to wait on those guys to jump, which is what leads some of those starts to be so scrambled. We need to make the rule plain as day... do no advance your position or BE IN THE ACT of passing before the start/finish. Also in the last race i noticed a few drivers being lapped while i was leading and waiting till i parked in the grid and just take back laps

CHarter, you have a point but I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say. If a driver from row 2 pulls up "next to" a driver in row 1, it's perfectly legal.

This happens in real NASCAR all the time and we're runnig a NASCAR Simulator here. When someone jumps, we usually penalize but most of the time, the person is intelligent enough to ease off the gas to let others pass. We'll try to make this as clear as day in the new version of the rulebook and we'll tell all of the newbies as well. Good observation though, we'll keep it in mind.

I know we are running a sim series, I love that, But when that driver from row 2 is full out along side of the row 1 drivers crossing the stripe, there is a an issue. Im not trying to whine or anything, i just think we need to take a look at this during this brief off season.

all in all our running of the races is great

As I said before, that's perfectly legal and gives me competition.

THIS. BEING IN THE ACT of passing before the start finish is exactly what so many people are doing and claiming legal.. this needs to be stopped.

That's because it is legal Shyguy. If we get make it a rule not to, we'll be diminishing the little competition we've been having lately!

We have competition without this...homestead was a clear example of this..that race was full of action start to finish... By letting this slide, people will just keep pushing the line to the point where the lead cars have to rush the starts and the field is going to be horribley spread. There is such a thing as being good at restarts, but people need to understand that the leader controls the restart..you dont go until they go..if you time it right and get a run on them as they take of thats fine...if the leader is on the straight waiting to take off and your 3rd in turn four and you gap it and punch it... you better be in line and behiend them at the line.. If we were stilling doing single file restarts, this would be fine as long as they made there passes on the left hand side, which was nascars rule. But the double file start rule states you need to be in line and not advance your position...being just a nose behiend the person at the line is still basically advancing your position

Completely agree. Otherwise, its not a doublefile restart anymore - hell, if theres no rule to stop it, it could be a 5 wide restart! Competitions great, as long as its fair competition. And restarts wont seem fair to anyone if being the leader isnt neccisarily the best thing because those behind you can jump.. I reckon jumping should be considered as rather than your cars nose being in front of the other cars nose at the line, your nose being in front of the other cars REAR at the line.

CHarter, how would it be a good restart if no one is guessing when to go? IF the leader controls the restart that means the leader will get a good half a second lead every restart... Restarts are always good for competition which is why I highly disagree with what you're trying to put across.

Restarts are good for competition because they bunch the field back up and allow a chance for someone to make a FAIR pass on someone.. what is going on now is completely unfair and stupid, especially if its not stopped. We could give the cars missiles cos it's "good for competition", but we choose not to, because its silly, and so is saying that someone can get out of line on a restart and it be fine and good for competition..

You know Shyguy, you got me thinking.....

How bout we activate the missiles to do nothing to the cars, but modify the launch sound to say....'Caution is out, roll off the throttle.'..........so whenever someone crashes, they can 'hit the fire key' to bring out the caution.

    Thoughts?

thats actually a fantastic idea burnout, that would make it clear that a yellow is out... Ill admit its hard to see the yellow get called when racing. Now burnout, when your being race admin are you just going to spectate or are you going to act as safety car?

Pace car would be pretty awesome.. especially if you got one designed with SCARTS logo on it etc.. It would help with restarts too..
