We are halfway through the 2017 SCARTS Turbochargers Cup Playoffs and Burnout has established himself as the points leader. Dore has struggled during the first four playoff races, failing to find Victory Lane. Szymek has been the pleasant surprise this year, climbing himself to 2nd in points, only 10 points behind Burnout for the championship lead. Szymek is fresh off of two back-to-back wins and looks to score a third to close right in on Burnout for the championship lead.
SCARTS heads onto Charlotte, which is historically Dore's stomping ground. He won the SCARTS World 600 earlier this year and last year's playoff race. He is a six time winner in only eight tries at this track and needs to make a move, and fast, to get himself back into championship position. This track and Road America stand out as tracks Dore wins at nearly every time and they are worth FULL points before the drop races. I really feel he needs to lead a lot of laps to realistically catch up. Should he win with few laps led and Burnout is 2nd with a 40 or 50% bonus, he won't make up much ground. The time is now!!!
See you on Thursday!
