Our 2015 SCARTS All-Star Race @ Charlotte was postponed until after our season finale and upon discussion with our admins, we will run our event at Daytona instead of Charlotte - dubbed the SCARTS Postseason Party @ Daytona.
As in past All-Star events, there will be a qualifying race and a main event. The qualifier will be a 20 lap race involving all drivers. Those locked into the main event will simply race for starting spot and pitstall selection while all other drivers will additionally race to qualify into the main show. The top half of the drivers competing to qualify into the show will transfer into the main event after the end of the 20 laps and the bottom half will be cut. This is alot like the NASCAR duel races where there are two races in one. Additionally, this qualifying round will have strategy disabled (no fuel or tire) so there is no reason to pit. Caution causers will go to last car on the lap they are on. Only lucky dogs will be awarded for lap down cars.
Since the race is now following the FTC season, the main event eligibility will consist of all 2015 race winners in Full Throttle and all former FTC champs that have started at least one points race this season.
Main Event Eligible Drivers:
Szymek (2015 Race Winner)
Burnout (2015 Race Winner)
Reirom (2015 Race Winner)
Dore (2015 Race Winner)
Sam (2015 Race Winner)
Slick (Former Champ - 1 start in 2015)
Delux (2015 Race Winner)
JonnO (Former Champ - 3 starts in 2015)
Everyone else needs to earn a transfer spot in the qualifier.
The main event will be 50 laps with standard strategy and cautions in effect. However, each lap has importance for seeding a final 10 lap segment following the 50 lapper. The final segment restart order will be seeded by the amount of laps drivers lead in the 50 lap segment in order of most led to least led. Should there by any ties the tiebreaker will be best finishing position. There is no benefit to winning the first segment, that segment is simply to lead as many laps as possible to help your starting spot for the 10 lap final. The drafting nature of Daytona will make leading alot of laps hard to do and due to lots of continous jockeying for position. Also to note, the final segment will also disable strategy (no fuel or tire in the stretch run to the checkers). The same caution rules apply as in the qualifier.
Our race will once again be at 22 GMT this coming Wednesday.
See you there!
