Eligibility is being changed for the Rising Star Series this year. Instead of the previous 1 FTC win which would stop you from racing for the Rising Star Series championship, now you will need 3 FTC wins to be made ineligible. Anyone who has over 3 wins in FTC in their SCARTS careers cannot race for the RS championship, they can only race as "part-timers". These drivers will be capped at 10 starts this season, down from 12 last year. Futhermore, anyone who made their first SCARTS start after the mid-point of the previous season (so Race 12 of 24 in cup or race 11 of 22 in Rising Star) will be eligible for the next years Rising Star Series championship regardless of win count in the FTC.
Why the change? Dore brought up a good point that he won the FTC finale last year and by the pre-existing rulebook, he would not be able to contend for a Rising Star Series title due to that FTC victory. This makes sure that those who could possibly simply "luck in" to a single FTC win will not be excluded from the RS championship forever. It allows those who are not yet top stars of SCARTS a chance to win a championship as a Rising Star.
