We all have things going on that can affect our chances of attending races. This will become REALLY prominent when we start scheduled racetimes this year for 2011.
I am writing up this rule now so there is no more backtalk about being able to race.
ATTENDANCE RULE TO BE ABLE TO RACE
----------------------------------
All drivers are 'expected' to show up in the server no later than the advertised racetime. We will NOT delay practice to wait on download files for drivers who connect after the scheduled time. All drivers who connect before the advertised start time we WILL wait on, but please, show early or download the files before showing up.
Once practice starts, the late players will have to wait on files to complete before entering the racetrack (if the car shows on the track) or wait until qualifying.
Late players are able to qualify but mustn't complain about missed track time or be at the risk of being kicked out of the race. We will retain the Top 8 in points rule in the races that cap competitors to 12 players. If there are over 12 qualifiers, those who show up during qualifying or after will NOT be able to race, whether in the Top 8 or not. The Top 8 rule takes effect DURING the qualifying session, not following it.
As long as there are open spots in the field and someone connects BEFORE the race starts, drivers may enter the race. If a Top 8 driver connects AFTER qualifying, and we have a maxed out field, that is considered late. We won't kick out a qualified driver for that circumstance. If the race has already started and someone shows up late, we will NOT restart for that player unless there is a reason UNRELATED to the late player such as: cars littered on the track, server glitch, etc. We will not listen to begging to get in. Late is late. No exceptions.
I hope this clears up attendance. This will be followed to a T in all future SCARTS events.
