The Situation

I have successfully moved house and we expected to get a new internet package (fibre optic, should be pretty fast) by the 26th. Only problem is crappy BT (with the terrible artificial government monopoly) meant the 26th of November. So I won't have any internet access till then.

So basically, unless we can get it changed round on monday (we are going to try ringing BT directly) I won't be able to host for the rest of the season. I may be able to strike a deal with Simms that would include me pacing from his house by bringing a laptop there, but even that's quite unlikely and Simms' internet is not good enough to host from. So either you postpone the end of the season by a month (not a good idea in my opinion although it would mean you wouldn't have to worry about NASCAR's late start times and could race FTC on sunday again), or you go ahead without me, possibly using Sam or someone else (Dore possibly?) as a SC unless I can manage to get in with Simmsy.

I have no way to talk to you guys except through Simmsy so if you have anything you urgently need to tell me tell him and he can get it to me.

Nooo shy. Should have got Virgin Media. Does that mean you cannot commmentate for FSR this weekend too?

I could SC if it was required as I am pretty much in a 5th place now.

I could theoretically host/SC if you needed me to. I dunno if my internet would be good enough for a good server but I think it would do. Somebody'd have to show me the commands and stuff but I'd be willing to do it if need be

EDIT: Just did a speed test, 27 down 4 up if that's good enough

If you could Sam that'd be cool, however I'd train Dore on it.

So is the race 100% on for tommorow or is the season to be postponed?

YES! Race is still on for 5pm ET Tuesday. Should turnout struggle, we will move to Wednesday, but that decision will be made tomorrow in the server if needed.

Lets get a nice big field tomorrow, Phoenix will be one heck of a race! Glad to have you pace Sam!

UPDATE: Should be getting a BT *phone line* in a week. It doesn't matter if our internet package is virgin or not, we have to wait for BT to install a phone line before we can get it. :/

I've been working on Daytona and will be ready for commentary as soon as I have the internet back. That will probably be in about one and a halfs to two weeks time. As for the Turbosliders.com league videos, if someone could update Dede on the fact that I obviously can't do them at the moment, that would be great.

I have managed to get a *temporary* internet connection using a mobile phone. Its pretty slow and obviously I cant use it all the time. So I will be around on msn sometimes for chats, but I'm not really able to download much or host races or anything yet.

who knows maybe we have less lags if you host races on your phone! ahueheuaheahueheheuha

Bad news - I will need to use phone internet for a while, maybe more months So Burnout you will have to host, you can participate in the series if you want because I will be around to either be the race admin or race.

Hey guys.

I finally got a phone line into our house this Monday. We are upgrading to a much faster internet plan today or tomorow and I will be wiring up my computer to the router in the next few days to, so no more unstable wireless internet! I should be able to test my server this saturday with a view to hosting and pacing on Sunday, or I could race out the rest of the Turbocharged series if Sam wants to continue pacing.

Well done to Lanz for doing a great job on the results (he can get them out far faster than I can) and Sam for I'm sure doing a good job pacing.

Sam/JonnO, skype isnt working for me using phone internet, so see you two in a few days We will be able to do Daytona 500 commentary FINALLY then
