We have had our second championship tie - our first since the three-way tie with Lanz, Burnout & Dore in 2013! The tiebreaker rules this year were focused on playoff performance and despite Burnout and Dore having equal win counts with four wins apiece in the playoffs, Burnout had two additional 2nd place finishes among the six races that counted compared to Dore's 2nd and a 3rd.
Dore entered the playoffs with a six-point lead, so Burnout was able to gain back exactly six points and have a stellar run in the playoffs to survive the tiebreaker to claim the 2018 championship! Had the finishes been exactly equal, the tiebreaker would have gone to the driver that did the best in the regular season, so Dore would have won had his 3rd been a 2nd!
