Delux did it. He sweeped Daytona races in Full Throttle Cup and Rising Star in 2014! This is an unprecedented feat in SCARTS to score all four wins at a track during a season. He has clearly become the new king of Daytona!
Onto Watkins Glen, our third road course event of 2014. Last year Delux nearly beat Burnout, missing the win by 0.094 which at the time became the closest road course finish in SCARTS. That record has since been beaten at Road America last Turbocharged Series (0.084) with Dore beating Burnout. Delux is looking to keep his hot streak going at a track he statistically does well at.
Watkins Glen is the last race for Dore, Delux and Szymek to score full points before the Chase as only 13 regular season starts are counted out of 16 total. Michigan and Martinsville will serve as drop races to improve upon poor finishes. Burnout however, has this race plus next week's race at Michigan to score full points at. Only Martinsville would serve as a drop race. They need to gain some big points back and fast at Watkins Glen or Burnout will have a better chance of snatching back the points lead and holding onto it after Martinsville.
Alot is on the line at Watkins Glen. Join us on Monday!
