The 2019 SCARTS Turbocharged Cup Series will begin on Wednesday, May 8th! This year's campaign is reduced to 12 races compared to 24 races in the past as it's the last planned Cup Series season. In 2020, SCARTS will run on a limited basis - perhaps some speciality Cups to keep the series alive but I will be stepping down considerably. It's been 11 years of racing and I can't thank you all enough for your participation and support! But, we still have a season ahead and it's time for Daytona - the 11th annual REItona 500!
As customary for our season opening race, a qualifying race (The SCARTS Shootout) will be run to set the field for the REItona 500 - but this year, we won't run the race on a separate week - the qualifier will be shortened to 30 laps and will run immediately prior to the main event. A short 2-lap ghost qualifying sprint will be held before the SCARTS Shootout to determine the 500 pole-sitter and rest of the field for the shootout as well as pitstall selection (stalls will carry over into the Daytona 500). The finishing order from the qualifier will then set positions 2 and back for the 500. Bonus points will once again be awarded for finishing order in the qualifier - 10 for 1st, 6 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for 5th.

This race honors the past 10 winners of this race along the apron in the trioval. Only Shyguy has won the REItona 500 twice, and several current drivers still looking for their first win in this event. Will you be victorious? Join us on Wednesday, May 8th!
