Live streaming? Interested?

I have everything set up already because I do streaming occasionally for my own purposes. It would be really cool if SCARTS did live broadcasts! I can have Skype callers (A.K.A. Shyguy! Obviously. xD) connect to me so they can commentate and whatnot.

I thought it would be a neat idea. lol

I was always interested in doing some live stuff. Not for SCARTS - would be too complicated I'm afraid. But Punaball is a possibility. In case you didn't know already, this year SCARTS will have full coverage shared with the F1SL, with some races being full broadcasts and some highlights. Turbosliders.com F1 League videos will continue in the next season with full length broadcasts for every race, but thats not expected until SCARTS is over Very Happy

For one - Shyguy is the admistrator, calling out penalties and handling cautions and race restarts as the pacecar. Mixing in live commentary with his administrative duties during the race would be very difficult to do simultaneously and likely won't turn out good at all.

Well, you would just be commentating on a livestream of turbosliders. No graphics or anything. And since we will be getting all races on SlidersTV anyway, it would just conflict Smile

Take a look.. I'm just not sure if anyone would watch a live stream, if all the SCARTS fans that were available at the time were playing, so why do it if they are going to watch it later, and they can watch it on SlidersTV with full graphics etc? Btw, theres a SCARTS commentary job open at SlidersTV if you want, assuming Charter also wants to keep his role and Burnout will guest a bit Smile

Commentary job ftw! Can't say I'd be that good at SCARTS though seeing as I'm newb to nascar anyway :p but nice! :p

And regarding the livestreaming, I'm not sure how many viewers it would get and all the fail parts with idiots under yellow flag would have to be broadcasted xD

I would be interested in commentating as I have a good knowledge of NASCAR since I have watched every cup race in the last few years plus I also have experience doing commentary for other racing games.

I think a live stream for F1SL would be an idea because some people who haven't been able to get a seat could do the stream for that.

Can I just confirm, live streaming apart from punaball aint gonna happen on SlidersTV, as I make full race videos with graphics, analysis and replays, not just recordings of turbosliders Smile

The F1SL will get the same deal as SCARTS - some races full, some highlights. We are working on the first video atm Wink

It's a nice idea but the fact is a single race video is over 20 hours work (30 for a top quality F1 video), so clearly we can't do that live.

It's not that hard to make sports style live overlays that are fed with real time stats. It wouldn't be "just a recording of turbosliders".

Please trust me on this Derek, I've made loads of these videos and if there was a quicker way to do it I would use it.. fact is you can't access the .tsr file data until after the race has been run, and it's from that data that Dede run's his script. If you can find a quicker and better script that would be great, but even then these videos take a LOT of work that can't be condensed into doing it as it happens.
